Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

WeTestedAI (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates wetestedai.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We keep it short and practical.

Who we are

WeTestedAI is an independent review website for AI tools. You can reach us through our contact page. We are based in the Netherlands.

Data we collect

  • Contact form: the name, email address and message you submit, plus technical data used for spam protection.
  • Newsletter: the email address you submit when you subscribe.
  • Comments: if comments are enabled, the name, email address, website (optional), comment text and IP address you provide.
  • Server and security logs: IP address, browser type, requested page and timestamp, kept by our hosting and security providers.
  • Cookies: strictly functional cookies for WordPress sessions, caching and form security. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

Why we use it and on what legal basis

  • Contact and comments: to answer your message or publish your comment (legitimate interest and, where required, consent).
  • Newsletter: to send updates you asked for (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Security and abuse prevention: to keep the site available and protect forms (legitimate interest).
  • Legal obligations: where we must keep or disclose information by law.

Cookies and third-party resources

We use functional cookies for login sessions, caching and spam protection (Cloudflare Turnstile on forms). We also load web fonts from Google Fonts; your browser may send your IP address to Google when loading them. We do not run advertising or behavioural tracking scripts.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers that help us run the site: our hosting provider (mijn.host, EU), our email delivery provider, Cloudflare Turnstile for form protection, and AI service providers used for content drafting and translation. Those providers process data on our instructions. Where data is processed outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards.

We do not send reader personal data (such as newsletter addresses) to AI providers.

Retention

  • Contact messages: up to 24 months, unless we need them longer to resolve a matter.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your address.
  • Comments: until you ask us to remove them or we remove them during moderation.
  • Server and security logs: normally up to 30 days.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You can also withdraw consent at any time. Contact us via the contact page and mention “privacy” in your message. You have the right to complain to your local data protection authority; in the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Security

We use HTTPS, access controls, regular updates and spam protection. No website can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

Children

The site is intended for professional and adult readers and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
